My Lord. I don't know what to say. I have known Billy most of my life. We were a part of a small pact that did everything together. I lived on Oakwood Ave. We went to school together, walked together, sang together, danced together, laughed together, graduated together. We were boys. Now he's gone. Please accept my sincere condolences. I pray that God will give you peace. We were all surprised, and will miss him dearly.

Mrs. Thrower, My heartfelt prayers go out to you and your family. I cannot imagine your loss. I've have thought of you and your children since that day. Billy was a dear person with only kindness in his heart. There are years of memories. Please, hold on to yours. Remind the children often of the good times. It was the times of laughter and joy I "know" he'd want all he loved to remember. Also I'm moved to tell you (though I'm sure you already know) God's Will is not going to take you anyplace his Grace won't keep you. Keep your head up when you can, lay it down when you need to, but above all be blessed in the Lord knowing He only takes the very best. Sincerely,

I am saddened to learn of your heartfelt loss. I will never forget the wonderful times of fellowship we had as athletes. We played flag football together every thanksgiving in the Turkey Bowl near Armstrong High. I hope this poem will bring you and your family some comfort during these difficult times.

Courage, Faith and Hope

Give me courage, Lord, to fight the good fight,

Courage to stand in the battle of life,

Courage to win when all seems despair.

Give me faith, Lord, that is loyal and true,

Faith in one who will see me through,

Faith to conquer whatever befall,

Faith in God, who rules over all.

Give me hope, Lord, when my light burns low,

Give me hope when storms of life overflow,

Give me hope when no way I see,

Give me hope, Lord,

.........to rise to Thee.

Our family is deeply saddened with the loss of your loved one. Billy has long been a part of our family, stepping right up to the plate as a son and brother to all of us. We have so many fond memories of Billy over the years, traveling to Winston-Salem, Alabama, and numerous other places to catch a good football game. We all remember fondly our last encounter with Billy, as he fellowshipped with us at a barbeque on Oakwood Avenue. He came right in and added to the warmth of family as we laughed, talked, and ate. We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to his wife, children, brothers, and sisters, as we know how difficult of a time this is. We will certainly miss his presence, but the memories that we have will continue to play on in our hearts.

With all our love and prayers,

The Blount Family ( Mom, brothers, and sisters)
