William Willie

1938 - 2025

William Alexander Willie, affectionately known as "Billy," passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at his home in Richmond, Virginia, surrounded by his loving family.

Billy was born on April 23, 1938, in Richmond, Virginia. His life was defined by hard work and persistence, values he demonstrated throughout his nearly nine decades.

He later found his calling and built a successful, decades-long career as a Snap-on Tools dealer, retiring after 36 years. A true "jack of all trades," Billy could fix anything. He built and remodeled homes, fixed his own cars, and repaired countless appliances, always ready to lend a helping hand.

Billy was a man who enjoyed keeping busy. His favorite pastimes included working, fishing, and pursuing a good deal at yard sales and bargain hunting. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family.

Billy was preceded in death by his mother, Ophelia N. Benton, and his brother, John B. Benton.

Billy is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Cecilia Ann Willie; their three devoted children: Genevieve Willie Duncan and her husband Ben, William Alexander Willie Jr. and his wife Jana, and Zachary James Willie and his wife Catherine.

He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren: Tyler Duncan (Payton), Morgan Duncan Smith (Tyler), Douglas Willie, Cassie Willie, Christian Willie, Sarah Willie, and Amelia Willie. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Madison, Elijah, Tanner, and Waylon. Billy is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Richardson, and his brother, Harold Benton (Gaby).

A memorial service will be held on Monday December 29, 2025, visitation at 9:30, memorial service at 10:30 at Saint Michael's Catholic Church, located on Springfield Road in Glen Allen, Virginia.
