Zelma Peatross "Polly" Chenault

CHENAULT, Zelma Peatross, "Polly," 95, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on April 10, 2021. She is survived by three children, Henry Wade Chenault Jr. (Carolyn), Carol C. Wilson and Ernest W. Chenault (Michele) of Suffolk, Va.; 14 grandchildren, Rachel, Kim, Amanda, Seth, Joseph, Rebecca, Andrew, Jessica, Angel, Daniel, Kirk, Samuel, Christopher and Lauren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Polly worked in retail for over 20 years, but is best remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother. Her children always knew how much she loved them, and they will forever cherish that love. Her grandchildren's best memories of Grandma were playing games, outside walks and making sure everyone had enough to eat, including her famous yeast rolls. She always enjoyed writing, word search puzzles and reading poetry. The family would like to show their deep appreciation to her caregivers at Imperial Plaza, especially April, who constantly showed such loving concern every day.

A faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church for over 60 years, a graveside service for Polly will be held at the church at 4210 Penick Road, for family and friends at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 15. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church.
