Andrew Dale "Andy" Mackan, age 47 of Highland, passed away Monday evening, Aug. 25, 2025, at the Miami Valley Hospital.
He was born on Nov. 9, 1977, in Greenfield, the son of the late Edward Mackan and Mary L. (Morris) Mackan Brown.
Andy had a huge heart and a generous soul and would do anything for anyone in need. He was currently serving on the Highland Village Council as well as the Caesar's Creek Flea Market Council.
He is survived by his stepfather, Allen P. Brown; his companion Tammy Everetts Meredith; two brothers Chris Mackan and Tim Mackan; step-siblings Donald Stroop, Jerry (Clara) Stroop, Larry (Diane) Stroop, Terry (Tammy) Stroop, Chris Brown, Kipp (Jackie) Brown, and Danielle Thompson; two uncles, Rick Morris and Danny (Beth) Morris; as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Riley and Mike Mackan.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 7 p.m.
Pastor Mark Armstrong will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in c/o Turner & Son Funeral Home, P.O. Box 127, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
