Geraldine "Gerri" McDonald, 89, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Hearth & Care Rehabilitation and Nursing of Greenfield.
She was born Sept. 11, 1926 in Brackon County, Ky., the daughter of Arthur and Garnett (McKenzie) Cook.
She retired from Ferrellgas of Greenfield in 1989 after many years of employment including a period of when it was Doxol Gas. She was a 1945 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School.
She is survived by one granddaughter, Pam (Chris Camp) McDonald Ross of Greenfield; one grandson, Scott (Jody) Giffin of Greenfield; five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Cassidy, Patrick, Madalyn and Mason; and one daughter-in-law, Beverly Giffin of Greenfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" McDonald, on June 23, 1978; one son, John T. McDonald; and both parents.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 14 at the Sharron Cemetery in Lattaville with pastor Danny Dodds officiating.
There will be no visitation.
The Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield is serving the family.
