Janet (Wagner) Beatty, age 88, of Greenfield, Ohio, passed away on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, at Vineyards at Concord in Frankfort.
She was born on June 23, 1937, in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Otis R. and Mildred (Peabody) Wagner.
Janet was a 1955 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School, involved with the Hobby Club for over 50 years, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenfield.
She retired from Kroger Grocery store in 1992 after 31 years of service and was formerly employed at Wilknet Hosery and Stewarts Pharmacy, both of Greenfield.
She is survived by one stepdaughter, Barbara (Roger) Duncan of Greenfield; one stepson, Harold "Bubby" (Becky) Beatty of Greenfield; three step-grandchildren, Melissa (Zach) Sims of Greenfield, Wesley (Katrina) Scarberry of Richmond, KY, Joel (Connie) Ballentine of Orient; nine great-grandchildren, Haley (Kyle Willett), Mallory, and Carly Sims, Tyler, Jenna, and Paxton Scarberry, Heath Beatty Jr., Mckenzie Ballentine, McKenna Ballentine; two great great-grandchildren, Morgan Willett, Ainslee Beatty; one brother, Otis R. (Joellen) Wagner Jr. of Greenfield; one sister, Becky Wagner of Greenfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard G. "Hoppy" Beatty, on Oct. 17, 2012; one son, John Curtis Hull; one step-grandson, Heath Beatty; two step great-grandchildren, Kassi and Dawson Beatty; and both parents.
Graveside service will be at 4 p.m. on Monday, August 18, at the Greenfield Cemetery with Otis Wagner officiating.
The Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield is serving the family.
