Larry R. "Rick" Smith, a beloved husband, devoted preacher, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Nov. 5, 2025, at the age of 68.
Born on April 20, 1957, in Albany, Kentucky, Larry lived a life filled with passion, purpose, and a deep love for his faith and family.
Rick is preceded by his parents, Kenneth and Bonnie (Atkins) Smith. Besides his parents, he is also preceded by his brothers, Ronald and Gary Smith and sisters, Dianne Walker and Nancy Vance.
Rick attended Southern State Community College and later graduated from Wilmington College.
He dedicated 14 inspiring years to pastoring at the Samantha Friends Church, where his unwavering commitment to spreading the word of God touched the lives of countless individuals. Rick was known for his vibrant spirit, his love for the Lord, and his ability to connect with people, making them feel welcomed and valued.
In addition to his faith, Rick was an ardent supporter of the University of Cincinnati's football and basketball teams, often sharing his enthusiasm with family and friends.
Rick's legacy will be carried on by his loving wife, Brenda (Storer) Smith, nieces and nephews: Shannon (Jimmy) Thery, Amanda (Chad) Pierson, Tyler (Samantha) DeHass, Hannah (Cole) Ludwig, Kyle (Sarah) Storer, Heather (Ethan) Short, Clayton Hardy, Carol Hardy, Savannah Sutter, Taylor Sutter, Miranda (Max) Wells and Stephanie (Chris) Brown, brother-in-law, Brad (Diana) Storer, sisters-in-law, Janet Smith and Beverly Hardy and several great nieces, great nephews and a host of friends. On behalf of Rick's wishes, he is to be cremated.
