Mansfield "Jack" Fabin, 87, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016 at Hearth & Care Rehabilitation and Nursing of Greenfield.
He was born May 24, 1928 in Winona, W.Va., the son of George Robert and Pearl (Vaughn) Fabin.
He retired from the U.S. Shoe Corp. of Greenfield after 42 years of service and worked for American Pad & Textile for three years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, was a past post commander of American Legion Post 298, past scout master Troop 440, a member of the Greenfield Church of Christ, and a 1948 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn "Bunny" (Anderson) Fabin, whom he married Aug. 30, 1968; two sons, James (Connie) Fabin of Bloomingburg and Jay (Pam) Fabin of Greenfield; two daughters, Jane (Larry Tyree) Jones of Springfield and Barbara (Larry) Barker of Greenfield; 10 grandchildren, James (Jocelyn) Fabin, Jeremy Fabin, Nathaniel (Jennifer) Fabin, Brenda (Tim) Lester, April Collins, Keith Jones, Timothy Jones, Bambi (Joel) Case, Sabrina (Giovani Ramos) Jones and Beth (Amy) Mendenhall; 23 great-grandchildren; two nephews, Robert (Mary) Fabin and Greg Fabin; and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Ashley Barker; one brother, George R. Fabin; and both parents.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19 at the Greenfield Church of Christ with pastor Danny Dodds and pastor Jay Fabin officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery with military rites provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the church with a veterans appreciation service to begin at 7 p.m.
