She was born on Sept. 12, 1935, in Champaign, IL, and was the firstborn of 10 children. She was a devoted and loving big sister.
On Nov. 3, 1956, Mary married Charles Moberly, whom she met at NCR in Dayton, OH. She kept busy with church functions, Girl Scout leadership, and helping family members or others when needed. But her first love was always family.
Mary worked and retired from the L.M. Berry Company, and she and Charlie moved to Hillsboro in 1995. They made many friends and loved their new town and the people.
Surviving is her loving husband, Charles Moberly and daughter, Kimberly Jaynes of Dayton; three sisters, Lois (Frank) Johnson, Shirleen (Edgar) Philpot and Michelle (Ed) Snyder; two grandsons, Tony (Larissa)and Charles (Sarah) Jaynes (but many called her Mamaw); six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Avery and Stella (Salley) Wheeler, five brothers: Ray Earl, Avery Jordan, Roy, Jerry and Garry Lee, and one sister, Marlene Scott.
A funeral will be held at the Hillsboro Freewill Baptist Church on S.R. 50 on Saturday, June 28, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Mary asked that you give to a needy family or a family charity. Or you can send/give flowers to someone you love for them to enjoy. The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of Dayton for their loving care.
There will be a gathering/sharing at the daughter's home in Dayton, starting at 2:30 p.m. Please bring a side dish, snack or dessert, and your choice of beverage.
