Michael D. Howland, 61, of Greenfield, Ohio, passed away Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.
He was born Oct. 16, 1956 in Highland County, the son of Virgil and Ethel May (Bainter) Howland.
He was a carpenter and construction worker.
He is survived by his wife, Hermalee "Sunny" (Daugherty) Howland, whom he married June 28, 1974; one daughter, Rachael (Steven Smith) Sowers of Greenfield; three grandchildren, Dalton Sowers, Byran (Carol) Sowers and Bailey Smith; two great-grandchildren, Stevie Smolk and Riley Sowers; two brothers, Steve (Sherry) Howland and Mark (Sharon) Howland, both of Greenfield; three sisters, Sue (Dick) Crum, Nancy Chain and Carla (Jay) Holsinger, all of Greenfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, four sisters and both parents.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with pastor Todd Ernst officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Our deepest condolences to you Sunny and Rachael and your whole family. Mike was a very nice man and we really liked him. We didn't find out about Mike's services until it was too late or we would have been there to pay our respects. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. God bless.

Am so sorry for you and your family but it makes it easier knowing he is with our Heavenly Father and will never have to suffer again. We continue to pray for you and all those that loved him. I am one of those, He was a great guy.
