Ronald Edward Shelton, 85, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 3, 2018.
Ron was married to Ann (nee Humphreys) for almost 66 years. Into this union was born Sue Angela, who died as an infant, and one last and beautiful, intelligent daughter, Sonya Veta (husband Lou).
He is survived by his cherished wife, Ann, and beloved granddaughters Ashley Worsowicz (husband Nate) and Paige Veta (fiancé William Carwile). Also surviving are two sisters, Emma and Juanita; three brothers, Don, Roger and Mickey; and a sister-in-law, Jane.
Predeceased are his parents, Cecil and Ruby Shelton; a brother, Bob; a sister, Beverly; and a brother-in-law, Omar.
Ron was retired from DP&L after 37 and a half years. He was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church and Ducks Unlimited. His favorite pastimes were hunting mushrooms and fishing. He loved to travel and had visited 49 states. He was a very caring person and everyone who met him liked him. He is sure to have a spot in heaven to make him an angel.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel, with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Park Cemetery in Beavercreek. Ron's family will greet friends and family from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Andrew United Methodist Church, Beavercreek, Ohio.
