Steven "Cup" Wisecup, 66, of Greenfield, Ohio, passed on Sunday, July 29, 2018. He was born April 8, 1952 in Greenfield to William and Evelyn (Hypes) Wisecup of Greenfield.
Wisecup was a 1970 graduate of McClain High School, where he played basketball and softball. He served in the National Guard from 1972-1978, worked at Greenfield Municipal Hospital in his teens, Cincinnati Milacron for 30 years, and later Kenworth Trucking. He enjoyed playing in men's softball league at Felson's Park and later watching the grandkids' ballgames. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, searching for his beloved mushrooms, and watching the Buckeyes, Reds, and Bengals. He was a member of VFW Post 4736 and Eagles #1325.
On July 31, 1987 he married Teresa Hamilton, who survives, along with their children, Charity Wisecup, Rachel Staats Woods, and Andrew Staats, all of Greenfield, and grandchildren Trey, Brendan, Kaeli, Sydney, Reagan, Mason, and Alivia.
Other survivors include brothers Scott (Tammy) Wisecup and Dennis (Michelle) Boden of Florida, and William Wisecup Jr. of Greenfield; sister Jama (Bob) Dollar of Florida; step-sister Sandy (Don) Wisecup of Kentucky; brothers-in-law Steve (Cindy) Hamilton of Oregon, George Hamilton of South Carolina, and Fred Hamilton of Greenfield; sisters-in-law Gloria (Jon) Nice of Florida, Sandy (Ed) Figueroa of North Carolina, and Mary Hamilton of Michigan; aunts Esther Lewis of Brookville, Margaret Haines of Greenfield and Virginia Cockerill of Frankfort; uncle Charles Wisecup of New Mexico; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, wonderful old friends, and his great new friends and Care Angels at Hearth & Care.
He was preceded in death by his mother Evelyn Boden, and father and step-mother William and Mildred Wisecup; a brother, Michael, in infancy; father- and mother-in-law Ed and Jo Hamilton; aunts Marcille Flannery, Margaret Donthnier, Barb Miller, Ruth Riehle, Dorothy Scheeler, Mary Barney; and uncles Frank Wisecup, Richard Wisecup, Robert Wisecup and Leonard Hypes.
A celebration of his life will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Mike Anderson officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Saturday until time of the service at the funeral home.
