David J. Templeton, age 69, of West Norriton, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2012 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Neuro-Science Building in Philadelphia. Born on January 4, 1943 in Norristown, he was the son of the late Helen (Harkins) and Arthur Templeton. David was a retired Teamster. He was employed at Fleming Foods (aka Thriftway Foods) in Oaks for over 30 years before retiring. He was also part-owner with his wife of the Collegeville Day Care School, Inc., for over 20 years. He lived in Collegeville for 38 years before moving to West Norriton in 2006. Dave was a member of St. Eleanor Catholic Church in Collegeville, previously serving on the Parish Council and, more recently, as an usher. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling and being an old movie buff. He enjoyed swimming every day at the Greens Westover pool. He looked forward to weekends at the shore and walking along the beach in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He and his wife just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by traveling to Niagra Falls and Toronto, Canada. They were wed on October 16, 1962 in Visitation BVM Church by Father Skylar. Dave was a caring and friendly person who enjoyed chatting with people. He always had a smile and pleasant outlook on life. He loved his three grandchildren who were the apple of his eye! Surviving are his loving spouse, Theresa (Carbo) Templeton of West Norriton; his daughter, Terry Carfagno (Tony) of Collegeville; his son, David, Jr. of San Francisco, CA; and his three grandchildren, Tessa Carfagno, Anthony Carfagno, and Nicco Carfagno, all of Collegeville. Also surviving are two sisters; Margaret Templeton of Royersford and Gina Templeton of W. Norriton; two brothers, Joseph Templeton (Ingrid) of E. Greenville and Arthur Templeton of W. Norriton. Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death. Dave has many nieces and nephews who will miss his jovial disposition. His brother and sister law, Sue (Carbo) and John Techman who accompanied him on the trip to Canada will always remember his laughter, especially after getting soaked on The Maid of the Mist. Friends and family are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Monday, October 29, at St. Eleanor Catholic Church, 6th Ave & Locust St., Collegeville, PA 19426, at 10:30 AM.
