RIP Ed.

We lost a great man and friend.
Ed and I met about 9 years ago as
business acquaintances and quickly became
friends. You could never say no to Ed, he was so appreciative you had to do the right thing for him. He made everyone feel good.Even after his accident he was always upbeat . I will miss you my friend

Ed was a great man even as a teenager. Back in the mid 1960s Ed worked for Whitemarsh Township's park and rec maintenance dept. He and his buddy Dick Devlin were often working at The newly established Cedar Grove park which was directly across Cedar Grove Rd from my home. As I was always playing ball over there I took the opportunity to have baseball or football catches with Ed and Dick. They were so encouraging to me. They breathed life into my dreams. They were great examples. I wasnt very good at those sports but it did not matter to them. They coached and instructed between grass mowing tasks. When I took an interest in long distance running, they challenged me to be the best I could be. I ended up running XC for PSU in the 70s. I will never forget the impact Ed had on me. I now coach a youth track club in Altoona PA made up of directionless kids much like I was 50 years ago. Those kids will be grateful
in heaven some day because a man named Eddie Wachowski influenced their coach to treat them with respect and breath life into their dreams. May all your family and friends know that the die was cast for Ed way back then to be a great man. Thanks so much Eddie

To my boss and friend, what do I say: I spoke with you before Thankgiving and we were both hoping for a better new year and too see each other soon. My heart is broken and my loss is great! I will miss your very much, Ed.
It was 11 years of my life working for a tuff, kind and generous man but what do you expect; we were both Polish. My love and prayers go out too MaryLou, Connie and Joe for their loss and Syd, what do I say.

Joe, so sorry to hear of Ed's passing. I'm just reading this or I surely would have attended his services. Played golf with him over at Blue Bell a while back, it was great catching up. He was a good man and will be sorely missed. Hope all is well with you, Jack Ferraioli [email protected]

I met Ed at church almost 3 years ago, He was one of the kindest most sincere person I've ever met. I have a sister with special needs and a elderly mother with Alzheimer's, during my darkest days facing what was happening to my mother Ed was my number 1 supporter, he would go visit mom and take her favorite milk shake for her, and he made her laugh, he would take us out to lunch at times, and sometimes right after church he would take us for brunch. Ed was a loyal friend, he would text me early mornings to see how i was doing and to ask if there was anything he could do. he made many visits to the hospital to sit and talk with my mom, many visits while she as in rehab. I always go to church a few min early so i can give him a hug and just talk. Ed you will be missed by so many, My heart broke when i got the news I am still in shock, he was full of life, even when he was in pain he still gave hugs and a smile. I will miss seeing you, i know you are with the lord now, and i know for sure you will watch over me. I will never forget you I will cherish every moment we had, you made me smile even when i felt i couldn't smile. How lucky was i to have had you as friend. Words can't express my sadness that i will never walk into church and see you all dressed up and talking and laughing with everyone around you. Sydney i thought about you the min i heard the news, you are in my thoughts and prayers. To Ed's family i send my condolences.

Ed Wachowski was one of the finest human beings I have ever known. He had a special ability to make people feel important and special. Ed invited me to be part of the Elite Sportswear Family when I was in College. Golf was a true passion of Ed's and we played golf together often. The only things Ed loved more than golf were his family, good food and Sydney. To Ed, I say, thank you for your friendship. You are loved by so many and will be remembered and missed by even more.

Ed was one of the finest gentlemen I've come to know in this life.

He was good to me, my family, the Blue Bell Members, ownership, employees and essentially anyone I knew him to be in contact. A true gentlemen in every sense of the word.

We talk about Ed often at my family dinner table. He especially touched the lives of my children as they navigated their way through life as summer employees at the Club. There was always an Ed Wachowski story to tell at the dinner table. He was a mentor in so many way's.

Memories of Ed will be with me and my family for the rest of our lives. It is entirely possible and likely we will be taking about him for many years to come. The impression he left is indelible and his legacy is in the love and wisdom he passed on to those of us left behind.

Rest in Peace Ed.

You are loved!!!!

I met Ed & Sydney in 1998 on my wedding day.
They were special guests from USA. We did liked each other right away.
Ed traveled to Poland many times. Ussualy it was on Christmas.
He loved to be here in these days. We was laughing, crying, singing carols and talking a lot.
Everytime He came, He were looked forward. He was like Santa Clous with many gifts.
For years He visited so many families in Poland so it was difficult to see everyone during one trip.
Everywhere He came He was treated like a ambassador. And really He was an ambassador of Poland in US saying about Poland and our living.
Somethimes He knew more about polish history than me.
We tried to show Him, people living here and Poland from Zakopane, Krynica at the mountains through Wadowice to the Hel at the Baltic Sea.

He invited us to US. I flew. Ed hosted me three times in His house and treated me like a son. He showed me America. I have been in many places in New York, Washington, Atlantic City and Philly. When I watch some movie with my children and recognize famous places in USA I say: "Yes son, I was there already".
Ed & Sydney took me even to Curacou. Everywhere I was meeting good people who knew Ed.

Ed had so many surgeries after His accident. He had strong pain and we felt together with Him but He was a fighter and survieved.
He didn't like to give up. That day when He was tooked to the hospilal, few hours earier we just were talking via internet with video.
He looked very happy and healthy . Ed planed flight to Poland next year for Chrismas.
I still can not believe what happened. I wanted to ask and tell Him so many things but it suddendly interrupted.

Ed was very good speaker. He could say nice speech. I heard him during someone's funeral. He liked add also something funny.
I hope You will forgive me if I add something, too.

>> I am so sorry you did not make see the newest part of Star Wars.
I know You were not big fan of it but for me you will stay the last Jedi.

Edziu (Eddie), You will stay forever in our minds as a very inteligent, gentle, smart man with big heart.
I would like to thank You for what You did for me and what I recieved from You.
It was like to win a ticket on lottery with big reward for me.

Rest in Peace Edziu

Ed Wachowski was a fine and gracious man. His sister and my brother married in 1969 and I saw him on various family occasions. He was always upbeat, kind and most gracious to all. Everyone in my family who knew him have only good things to say about him; the most frequent comment, "He was just a nice guy." My condolences and prayers go out to his lovely companion Sydney, his sisters and brother and the rest of his family.

On a return trip from Myrtle Beach, driving with Ed many years ago this gentle, great man shared hours of his families history and his personal experiences when he returned to Poland. He went on for hours...the knowledge as "The Natural" teacher flowed with such passion and emotion it is something I will never forget.......Rest in Peace Eddie....
