Eugene Pressler, Jr. Eugene C. Pressler, Jr., a native of Montgomery County, Pressler attended Ursinus College before becoming Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Continental Bank. He retired in October 1991 after serving twenty years with the Bank. He was member of the Board of Directors at Foulkeways, a retirement community in Gwynedd. He also co-chaired the Maple Glen Village Association and was a Director of the Maple Gen Business and Professional Association. He was an avid amateur radio operator and served as Assistant Director of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL). He cofounded and served as Director Emeritus of the Area Repeater Coordination Council, Inc., the regional amateur radio repeater frequency coordinator for eastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey. He authored newspaper and magazine articles published by the ARRL's QST magazine, the Administrative Management Society's Management World and other professional and avocational publications, including the Montgomery Post and Today's Post. In 1978, he was awarded the George Washington Medal for "outstanding journalism upholding American ideals" by the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge Since retiring, he has been active with the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Montgomery County (RSVP) and is former Chairman of its board of Directors. He was a member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Ambler. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maripat Cope Pressler and his daughter, Margaret Visher. He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Roth, of Durham, NC; three grandchildren, Katie Harper, Timothy Visher, and Christina Visher; three great-grandchildren, brothers Edwin Pressler of Warminster and Robert Pressler of Blue Bell and sister Elizabeth Pressler of Rutherford, CA. Relatives and friends are invited to call after 10:00 AM Saturday March 5 at First Presbyterian Church of Ambler, 4 South Ridge Ave., Ambler PA. 19002 with a memorial service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private in Riverside Cemetery, Norristown.
