Kari Groff Obituary

Kari L. (Andersen) Groff, 41, beloved wife of Matthew Q. Groff, Reichenbach Rd., Worcester Twp., died Tuesday, at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, East Norriton Twp. Mrs. Groff was born on January 4, 1972, in Staten Island, NY, and was the daughter of Arthur E. Andersen, Jr., Franconia Twp., and the late Lynn M. (Henriksen) Andersen. Kari was a graduate of Susan Wagner High School, Staten Island, and Penn State University. In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Groff was a former engineer at Martin Marietta Corp., Upper Merion Twp. Mrs. Groff was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher; member of the Christian education, Mutual Ministry, and Property committees; member of the St. Andrew's Nursery School Board of directors; and soup kitchen volunteer. She also delivered church flowers to homebound church and community members. Mrs. Groff was also a volunteer at Main Line Animal Rescue in Chester Springs, PA. In addition to her husband and father, Mrs. Groff is survived by her children, Kirsten, Amanda, Jonathan, and Christopher Groff, at home; her brothers, Erik, husband of Denise (Hogan) Andersen, Anchorage, AK, and Kristian, husband of Mary (Creighton) Andersen, Queens, NY; her step-mother, Patricia (Peterson) Andersen, Franconia Twp., and her step-sisters, Tracy, wife of Patrick Horan, Wilmington, DE, and Aimee, wife of Brian Stoudt, Churchville, PA. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 25, 2013, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 2725 Egypt Rd., Audubon, PA, 19403, with the Rev. William R. Mueller, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be private in Augustus Lutheran Church Cemetery, Trappe. Memorial contributions may be made to Main Line Animal Rescue, PO Box 89, Chester Springs, PA 19425, www.mlar.org; St. Andrew's Nursery School, www.standrewsnurseryschool.com; or St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, www.standrewslutheran.com. Arrangements are by Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., Trappe.

I feel so lucky to have known Kari. She left too soon, but she will continue to be an inspiration. She was such a wonderful woman, wife, mother. She made me want to be a better person. I will miss her so much. My heart aches for Matt and her wonderful children.
