Forever remembering your warm yet fierce spirit, Katie. I imagine you managing the operations of heaven :)
I've attached a picture I was inspired to pastel the night I learned of your original diagnosis. It depicts two struggling, faded trees in the background superseded by vibrant, life-giving trees in the foreground. This is my experience of Katie.

Katie was such a lovely soul. In the relatively short time that we worked together at Penn I could always count on her to be an oasis of warmth, friendliness, and good cheer. It is therefore no surprise to me to learn that she was so widely and deeply beloved.

Our sincere condolences to the entire family of Katie. I knew her when she was a little blond package of energy visiting the Special Religious Ed Program at St. Paul's.
We've known the Curran family for many years. Your loss is profound. We do not know Katie's husband; but you are in our hearts and prayers as well.
Please know how our hearts ache for all of you.
Katie, rest in peace and thanks for the pleasure of knowing a bit of you here on earth.

Although I only worked with Katie for a brief time at Nazareth Hospital, I found her to be a genuinely warm and funny personality. She offered so much of herself in spite of her illness. So many of us will miss the opportunity to get to know her more and support her mission to offer the best of ourselves every day. Thoughts and prayers to her family during this difficult time. Rest in Peace Katie.

Katie & I began our careers at Penn Psychiatry within months of each other. I have never met such fierce determination wrapped in such a delicate, lovely package. I was privileged to work alongside of Katie & to know her as a genuine, hope-filled woman. Your brave spirit remains forever, Katie. My heartfelt condolences to her family.

I am so sad to hear of Katie's passing. During the time (years ago) when we worked in the same department, I found her to be such a lovely person, and it was so easy to team up with her when something important needed attention. I am so sorry that I lost touch with her when she changed work settings. I will always remember Katie. I want to offer her family my deepest condolences.
