Kenneth Macelak Obituary

Kenneth Macelak Kenneth M. Macelak, Sr., a former tube and dye worker, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, March 22, 2011 in Mercy Suburban Hospital, after bravely enduring Rheumatoid Arthritis for many years at the age of 48. Mr. Macelak, a lifelong resident of Swedesburg, was employed by Handy & Harmon Tube Co. He was a faithful member of Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church of Bridgeport where he served as an Altar Boy for many years. He was a graduate of Upper Merion Senior High School, Class of 1980 and attended the Montgomery County VoTech School. He attended pastry school in Grenich Village, New York. Mr. Macelak, enjoyed cooking, hunting, fishing, was an avid Phillies fan and Boise State College Football. Born in Norristown on April 3, 1962, he was the son of Dymtro Macelak, of Swedesburg and the late Laura (Posobiec) Macelak. Besides his father, Mr. Macelak is survived by a son: Kenneth Macelak, Jr., of Swedesburg; brother: Dymtro "Sonny" Macelak, and his wife Christina, of Worcester; sister: Maria Bruno, and her husband John, of West Norriton; niece: Danielle Macelak and nephews: Nicholas and Brian Bruno and Kyle Macelak; aunts and many cousins and friends. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 29 2011 at 10:00 A.M. Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 519 Union Ave. Bridgeport. Monsignor Dr. Ronald Popivchak, will officiate. Interment will be private. Relatives and friends may call on Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. or on Tuesday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at the Bernard S. Gutkowski Funeral Home, Inc. 305 Jefferson St. Swedesburg, Upper Merion Twp. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to either The American Arthritis Foundation, Bourse Bldg., 111 S. Independence Mall East, Suite 500, Philadelphia, Pa. 19106 or Sts.Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church at the above address.
