Patricia Vargo Obituary

To the world Patricia B. Vargo (nee Boyd) was a wife, mother and grandmother but to her family she was the world, a strong, self-aware woman who was filled with dignity, style and grace. On Thursday Jan. 9, 2014, Mrs. Vargo passed away peacefully at her home in Collegeville surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Vargo was born into a large family of nine children in Philadelphia. She was a resident of Collegeville for over 30 years, spending her winters in Dunedin, Fla., and her summers in Ocean City, N.J. She had made a career and worked alongside her husband, Joseph, at Vargo Real Estate, in Eagleville, as a licensed Realtor and as a licensed insurance agent for 30 years. Home is where your treasure is. There, your heart will be also. Mrs. Vargo had opened her heart and her home to her two nephews Jason & Joseph Carrington. At home she loved to cook and spend time in her herb garden. She was an emphatic history enthusiast, a "Mrs. Encyclopedia." Most of all she was the world's greatest gran mom to her twin granddaughters, whom she loved to spend time with doing arts and crafts. Mrs. Vargo will fondly be remembered as patient, classy and beautiful. She was a businesswoman who commanded respect.
Mrs. Vargo was the daughter of the late George & Frances nee (Gallagher) Boyd. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 49 years, Joseph M. Vargo. She was the mother of Stacey & her husband, Matthew McCormick, and their stepchildren, Kayleigh and Mackenzie, and Paige & her husband, Marc Volovich. Mrs. Vargo was the proud grandmother of Reece & Elle Volovich and the sister of Geoffrey, George, Michael, Richard and William Boyd, the late Joseph and Thomas Boyd and the late Claire Carrington. She is also survived and will be sadly missed by her many nieces & nephews as well as her close friend and cousin Joan Owens.
Relatives and friends are invited to Join the Vargo family to remember Patricia, with dignity and grace in a Life Celebration on Monday evening between 7-9 p.m. at the Boyd-Horrox Life Celebration Home 200 W. Germantown Pike, Norristown, and on Tuesday morning between 9:30 am and 10:30 am at St. Eleanor Church 647 Locust St., Collegeville, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Msgr. Sweeney presiding. Entombment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Dekalb Pike, Norristown.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Patrician Society of Central Norristown, 121 E. Chestnut St., Norristown, PA 19401, www.patriciansociety.org, or to share a loving memory, please visit www.lifecelebration.com. 1-800-Givnish.
