Paul Charles Raffeo

Paul Charles Raffeo, 93, formerly of Collegeville, passed away on December 1, 2012 at Greenfield of Perkiomen Valley In Schwenksville. His beloved wife, Mary "Zizi" passed away on that same day in 2009. Born on February 27, 1919 in Norristown, he was the son of the late Accursio and Antonina (Ingrasciotta) Raffeo. He attended Norristown schools and was the husband of the late Mary (Russo) Raffeo with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. Paul was co-owner of the Collegeville Super Market until 1972. He was a member of St. Eleanor Church, the Young at Heart, Trooper Senior Citizens and Chesmont Seniors. He enjoyed playing cards, casino trips, baseball, but mostly spending time with his family. He will always be remembered for his positive outlook, his generosity, his great stories and his sense of humor. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Helena Poysden (Mike) of Collegeville; grandchildren, Natalie Bizon (Brian) of Harleysville, Michael Poysden (Jacqueline) of Royersford; two great grandchildren, Matthew and Alex Bizon; two special "sons", Vince and Chris Russo. He is also survived by sisters, Sue Storti, Catherine Solomone, brothers, Leonard and Vincent, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Ingrasciotta, Mary Varone, Eva Cascio, and Lena Nacarella, and brothers, Joseph and John. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Thursday, December 6th from 9 to 10:20 a.m. followed by funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Eleanor R.C. Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA 19426. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, East Norriton The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Greenfield for the care given not only during this last month, but for the friendship they provided him over the last four years.
