Susie: I was so privileged to have been one of the girls in the little flock of Bluebirds that your Mom took under her wing over 50 years ago. Every week we would gather around that big table in the Gamba garage and she would have some great project for us to work on; or we would be out planting a tree in a schoolyard; or on a campout where we learned to cook "Wilderness Stew". She was tireless in her efforts for us. She was a great teacher, a great role model and a fair and compassionate leader--the best--to our little band. Even after all this time I remember so fondly the many years that she devoted to us. It made a difference in my life and for that I am truly thankful. My deepest condolences to your family on the loss of such a grand woman.

My heart goes out to Bea's family. Bea, along with my late mother Peggy Long, was one of the group of close friends who called themselves "The Girls of '42" and they have continued to get together and plan reunions for all that time. I found some photos of some of the Girls - hope you can see the joy in their shared commitment.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Gamba family. My dad worked with Dominic at Red Top and I played football with Danny.

To Bea's Family,
May treasured memories of a beautiful woman help you through the difficult days ahead. I had the pleasure of knowing Bea the past 12 years. She always had her ever present smile and gracious manner whenever we met. She always had kind words for my family and a deep respect for family. I will miss our conversations. She is with her beloved Dominic and Danny. God's Blessings to her family!
