David Anthony Marcucci

David A. Marcucci, 74, passed away at home on Tuesday morning with his wife, Mireya, and his son, David, by his side.

David was born in San Francisco and was a resident of Vallejo for 31 years. He worked for the San Francisco Department of Social services for more than 35 years. He worked so well with people that he eventually worked in every department.

He earned a Bachelors degree in social services and also in Theology. He was practicing to become a priest. He was a member and served as lector for St. Basil's the Great Catholic Church and was a former member and volunteer at St. Anthony's Church in Menlo Park for 15 years.

David was a member of Sons of Italy, B.P.O.E #559, Catholic Federation, Knights of Columbus. He also was a volunteer for Big Brothers of America and Meals on Wheels with his son David and enjoyed mentoring students.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christina Marcucci, on June 22, 2005.

David is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mireya Marcucci of Vallejo; son, David Marcucci; sister, Doreen Haughton and her family of Kansas; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 29, at Twin Chapels Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m., at St. Basil's the Great Catholic Church. Inurnment will be held at a later date at All Souls Catholic Cemetery, Vallejo.
