Henry Williams Sr., "Hank," 83, of Vallejo, passed away Sunday at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Vallejo, following a short illness. Henry was born in Waterproof, La.
Hank served 11 years in the United States Army.
He was employed by Longview Fibre Paper & Packaging in
Oakland for more than 30 years, retiring in 1990.
Hank attended Kyles Temple A.M.E. Zion Church where he served on the board of trustees and sang in the Sunday Choir and the Men's Choir.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Mildred; his parents; a sister; and two sons, Larnell and Henry Jr.
He is survived by his first wife, Mary; several children; stepchildren; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and many friends, especially Ms. Amie Bell.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 24, with a quiet hour from 7 to 8 p.m., at Skyview Funeral Chapel, 200 Rollingwood Drive, Vallejo. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, at Kyles Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, 912 Florida St., Vallejo. Burial at Skyview Memorial Lawn, Vallejo.
