Not only was Gene my boss for 11 years at C&H but we shared the same birthday, August 18... just 20 years apart. We had a lot of fun with that little coincidence. He had a profound effect on my professional and personal life. Especially so since my dad died when I was quite young.
I will never forget him. RIP Gene. See you again one of these days.

I was a schoolmate to the Doyles' sons John and Jim while in Vallejo. May God bless and strengthen Mr. Doyle's family in this most difficult time.
And a sincere "thank you" to Mr. Doyle for his honorable service to the Nation.

Mrs. Doyle, Brad just called. Gene was always so full of good humor. Always enjoyed my trips to Vallejo. Sorry to hear about your hip. Everything seems to hit at one time. Will be in touch as soon as things settle down. Love Lynn G

Mrs Doyle and Family - I am so sorry to hear about Mr Doyle's passing. This hits very close to me since my dad passed so recently and I have so many vivid memories of your husband when I was growing up. I always looked up to him for his calm and easy manner and sense of humor. I always felt so comfortable and welcome in your home. Please know we are praying for you and all your family and keeping you in our hearts at this difficult time.

What a great man to have known and be able to call him a friend. My condolences to the entire Doyle family. I have many memories of Mr. Doyle and they all contain that great sense of humor. He smiles from above now.

One of my favorite fellow Irishmen! Always smiling with a twinkle in his eye. Loved working with him and taking the bus to SF each morning. Always praising Elsie and his boys. He will be missed.
