Herger family, I am so sorry for your loss. My Dad really enjoyed Joe and they shared memories of McKinley, VJHS and VSHS, apprentice school, VJC, WWII, raising families, Mare Island, and the Elks Lodge. While Joe was in Planning and Estimating, Dad was in Shipfitting #11. I visited your home and regarded Cap'n Joey Junior as a good friend. Dad sends his regards and regrets.

While cleaning up the guest room at my house today, a picture fell on the floor and I bent to pick it up. There shown with a big smile on his face was Joe, along with the rest of the family in a pic. taken in 1998! I cannot believe how uncanny this was considering the current circumstance. Perhaps it was meant to be that I share this here because I do think it was a sign that Joe's ok and is watching over us. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Throughout the seventy two years I have been in the family, I have never seen Joe without a smile, or a laugh. He had a great outlook on life, and was fun to be around. He will be missed.
Nancy and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Lucille, Joseph, Lois, Lucille Ezell, and family.
It is with regret that we wont be attending the services due to health reasons.
