Nitsa GreenJune 12, 1981- January 31, 2022Vallejo, CANitsa Corine Green was a daughter of Vallejo until her tragic passing on January 31 this year. She is survived by her mother, Ariadne Helene Green; her half-sister, Vianna Williams and half- brother Haliki Green of Bakersfield. Her father, Cleveland Green, Jr. welcomed her into heaven.Nitsa is also survived by her fiancé, Jason McNeil they had planned their nuptials in June on the island of Maui where Nitsa spent much of her childhood. There she attended Haleakala Waldorf School and King K High School in Kula on Maui. Nitsa loved the island life, swimming with dolphins, snorkeling and whale watching off the Lahaina shore. Prior to moving to Hawaii, she and her mother and sister lived in Taos, NM where she learned about Native American Culture and celebrated the customs of the area. She attended Taos Elementary.Upon her return to Vallejo in 1997, she attended Vallejo High School and cared for her grandmother, the late Valentene D. Pappas until her "Yia Yia" passed away in 2007.Beyond the biological family ties of many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces, Nitsa considered those friends she loved most as family.They include Vallejo Mayor, Robert McConnell and his wife, Paula McConnell who have been neighbors and friends of the family for 30 years. Ariadne Green works for Mayor McConnell managing his social media pages and acting as liaison to the community.For the last seven years, Nitsa enjoyed her career as she elevated through the ranks to supervisor at Blue Apron in Richmond. She planned to begin her own culinary catering business in the near future until tragedy struck.The family asks that donations be made to a GoFundMe campaign to pay for an independent autopsy. The family has retained the services of the world-renowned forensic pathologist and neuropathologist, Dr. Bennet Omalu, who will perform a complete autopsy, examine the brain and perform a whole body CT scan to determine the cause and mechanism of death.
