Robert Lyle Couch Jr., 74, of American Canyon passed away at Sutter General Hospital in Sacramento on Friday.
He was born to Robert Lyle Couch and Gracia L. Reader Couch in Vallejo on Dec. 1, 1935. He attended Vallejo schools, graduating high school in 1955. He married Patricia K. Earnest in September 1959.
Bob owned a Hancock Gas Station on Vallejo's Couch Street around 1960. He started as boiler-maker-welder in 1966, Local No. 549, working in Napa for Kaiser Steel Corporation for 10 years.
Bob became a private pilot and owned three planes he was very fond of. He enjoyed collecting antiques and was a very generous man.
Called Bob or Sonny by some, we knew him as Dad.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Kay Couch.
Bob is survived by four sons, Robert R. and Glen R. Couch of Vallejo, David K. Couch of Anderson, Calif., and George R. Couch of American Canyon; four grandsons, Jacob D., Nathan D., Adam B. and David K.; sister, Lenor Kleckner of Santa Maria, CA; and brother, Richard Couch of Napa.
Visitation was Friday. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Wiggins-Knipp Funeral Home, 524 Capitol St., Vallejo. Burial at Sunrise Memorial Cemetery, Vallejo.
