(USN, Ret.) Robert Evans, Jr., 85, of Indian Mound, Tenn., died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, Tenn.
Robert was born June 1, 1925 in Morgantown, Ky., the son of Robert Lee Evans and Bonnie Elizabeth Wingfield Evans. He was proud of his service to his country, having served and retired from the U.S. Navy.
Following his retirement from the Navy, he also worked and retired from civil service, Mare Island Naval Shipyard with a total of 44 years of federal service.
He attended Indian Mound United Methodist Church and was a member of the F.R.A. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be sorely missed by his wife Sara Jobe Evans of Indian Mound; sons, Richard Paul (Jomargaret) Evans of Vallejo, Calif., and Jim Evans of Indian Mound; daughters Christina (Ignacio) Carmona of Cleveland, Ga., and Angel Evans of Kentucky; sister Charlene (W.L.) Allen of Layton, Utah; nine grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Nov. 16, at McReynolds-Nave and Larson Chapel in Clarksville, Tenn. His remains are to be cremated.
McReynolds-Nave and Larson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

It's been 10 years. Alot has happened but I'm sure you would be proud of the little man Zander is becoming. You taught me alot in the little bit of time I had you in my life. You will always be my father in law.
