Roberta Lynn Harper

Roberta Lynn Harper, 60, of Fairfield, passed away on April 18, after battling cancer. Roberta was born in Vallejo, on July 25, 1955 to Creley and Gladys Mann, the only girl and youngest of three children. She graduated from Vallejo High School in 1973.

She married Robert Whitaker Harper II, on Dec. 15, 1975, and stayed happily married until the time of her death. In the beginning of their marriage, her husband, Robert, enlisted in the United States Marines, and the couple lived together in various places throughout California. After Robert's time in the Marines, they settled in Vallejo to raise their family. In 1987, they moved to Fairfield, where they finished raising their family.

Roberta loved her friends, family, gambling, riding with her husband on his motorcycle, reading, music, and caring for her collection of plants (especially her 24 Hour Blooming Cactus). She inherited a love of gambling and enjoyed short visits to the Casinos, with Robert every opportunity she had. Her winnings were often shared with her children and grandchildren. Roberta loved people and worked various customer service based jobs throughout her life, including Sears and Conway, until she retired to take care of her mother. After raising children, she found joy in motorcycle rides with Robert, where they would visit friends, gamble, and eat at various restaurants. She was a social butterfly and loved to spend time with friends and family chatting it up. She always had a huge smile and truly lived with unconditional love towards the people she knew.

Roberta will always be loved and missed by the love of her life, Robert; son, Greg and his wife, Brandi Harper; son, Daniel Harper and Jody Breukers; daughter, Rebecca Harper and Dax Moore; seven grand children, Destiny Breukers, Alexis Harper, Isaiah Hallert, Raya Harper, Leanna Olmedo, Emily Harper, and Daniel Harper Jr., who adored her very much. Also, survived by five sisters-in-law; eight nephews; three nieces; and a number of great nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys Gibson and Creley Mann, and two siblings, Eddmond Mann and Kenneth Mann.

Roberta will be laid to rest Monday April 25, at 10:30 a.m. Services will be held at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, located at 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, CA 95620. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local Cancer Society.
