I remember when the Friel's moved to Benicia a few blocks down from our family. My sister Elaine and I spent a lot of time with Shannon those first few years. My best memories of Shannon are in the younger years when we spent a lot of time on what we called the island just off of their back yard. It wasn't really an Island, but we thought we were queens out there.
To the entire Friel family, you were blessed to have such a wonderful daughter and sister. Keep her in your heart and she will be with you forever.

I am very sad to hear of Shannon leaving earth, but she is now pain free, light as a feather, and free of all the meds.
I lived next door to Shannon for over 12 years & saw her nearly everyday. Shannon's doctors did not wanting her to clean the litter box, so that was my responsibility. We shared many things between our households, borrowed from each other constantly and talked for hours and hours.
She was making a plan to come vacation to where I have moved, and I am truly sorry that plan will not come to fruition.
Shannon; please watch out for Jay for me & give him, my Mom, & my Dad hugs.

As friends of the O'Blennis family, we had the pleasure of welcoming Shannon to our home for a July 4th picnic a few years back. We had previously heard Bill and Janet speak fondly of Shannon over the years and on that day we were able to experience it ourselves. She was a delightful, warm and charming addition to the day's festivities and we felt honored that she chose to accompany Bill and Janet to our home. We offer our sincere sympathy to you and your family for the great loss of an inspirational woman who chose to fully embrace life.
