Shirley Dobbins Obituary

Shirley Dobbins, 87, passed away after a short illness in the loving care of Alma Bella Manor, Vallejo. She was born in Perryton, Texas to Lela and Ernie Jones and moved with her family to Vallejo in 1941. She attended Vallejo schools, where she met and later married Ted L. Dobbins in 1952 and enjoyed 50 years together before his passing in February 28, 2002. Shirley worked at Herb's Troc in the 1960s, at her husband's business, C & T Cabinet Co. in the '70s and '80s and for Security Self Storage in Fairfield for 19 years until she retired. Shirley enjoyed baking, sewing, playing cards with friends and family, but especially cooking for her family and sharing every birthday, holiday and special event with her daughters and their families and friends. Shirley always made it a point to be there in any way she could for her family. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Ernie and Lela and brothers J.C., Marvin, Charlie, Bobbie, Billy Ray, Dewey, Duane, Jerry and sister Juanita. She is survived by her daughter Wanda Wardlow of Benicia, Janet Silverman (Dan) of Danville and Jane Hopkins (Tom) of Vallejo; five grandchildren, Rebecca (Brad) Pigg, Gina (Alan) Mata, Joey (Marissa Johnson) Hopkins, Zach Silverman and Maddi Silverman. She was blessed with four great-grandchildren, Aidan and Mackenna Pigg and Gracie and Rhys Mata. She is also survived by sister-in-law Linda Jones, and Sharon Davis (Steve), and many nieces, nephews and longtime friends.A memorial will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 4th at the Church of Christ, 1109 Lassen St. Vallejo.

I will miss Aunt Shirley. Always a smile on her face. The last of ten siblings, sad he will be so missed. My thoughts and prayers are with my cousins and children.
