Alfred Von Dran Obituary

PLAINS — Alfred (Al or Freddy) Von Dran II died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, in the ambulance on his way to Geisinger Hospital Plains. His parents were Barbara Von Dran and the late Dr. A.H. Von Dran, of Bear Creek Village.

Freddy was an Eagle Scout, a third-year medical student, accomplished horseman and as his late brother in-law, Ralph English, described: He was the definition of a perfect gentleman.

He is survived by his three children: Kirsten Von Dran and daughter, Paige, Valerie Bailey (Brian) and daughters, Briana and McKenna, and son, Bill Von Dran (Melissa) and children, Ethan and Emma; Barbara Von Dran (mother), Billi English (sister) and former wife, Terri Winters.

If desired, donations may me made to the Hope Center, a nonprofit medical and dental resource for those in need. The Hope Center is located on 205 Main St., Luzerne , Pa. 18709. A memorial celebration will be held at Freddy's home, the Bischwind, from 2 to 5 p.m. on Oct. 29 located on Route 115 in Bear Creek Village.

So sorry to learn about the passing of your father.
