SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Alice J. Draina, 89, former of Baldwin Road, died Friday, Oct. 31, 204, at Ellis Hospital.
Alice was born and educated in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of Michael and Bertha Sliwinski.
She moved to the Schenectady area in 1953. She worked for the Scotia-Glenville District, retiring in 1980, as the food manager. She enjoyed traveling around the world, especially the trips with the "Golden Girls."
Alice will be remembered as the caregiver to everyone in her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew B. Draina, in 1973.
She was the mother of four sons, Gerald (Nancy Jean) Draina, Frederick, Maryland, Denis (Susan) Draina, Malta, New York, the late Mitchell (Dolores) Draina, Ballston Lake, New York, and Andrew (LuAnn) Draina, Edinburg, New York; seven grandchildren, Carrie, Tonya, Timothy, Scott, Kevin, A.J. and Nikki; five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service 5 p.m. Friday at the Daly Funeral Home Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hour will be held from 4 p.m. to service Friday. Memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at Charles V. Sherbin Funeral Home, 630 Main Road, Hanover Green, Hanover Township. Internment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Many thoughts and prayers for Alice and her wonderful family. We have so many wonderful memories of family reunions and visits in the past.
