Andrea Zalewski Obituary
She was born in Nanticoke on Nov. 24, 1946, a daughter of the late Stanley and Anna Kurkowski Nadwodny.
She was a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School, Class of 1964.
She was employed as a stenographer for the Department of Labor and Industry, Worker's Compensation Division, retiring in 2005.
She was a member of Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch, and its Christian Mothers Society.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her loyal Golden Retriever, Angel, but most especially with her granddaughters, Andrea Joyce and Ashley.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Frank B. Zalewski.
Surviving is her daughter, Anna Laughlin, and her husband, Douglas, Newport News, Va.; granddaughters, Andrea Joyce and Ashley; sister, Jacqueline Strzelecki, Nanticoke; niece, Jackie Strzelecki; nephew, Joey Strzelecki; sisters-in-law, Millie Zalewski and Helen Stefanovich, both of Ashley; Rose Kurta, East Berlin, and Theresa Varela, Hanover; brothers-in-law, Chet Zalewski and his wife, Mary, Spokane, Wash., and Daniel Zalewski and his wife, Lynee, Newtown section of Hanover Township; and best friend, Rita Miller.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church, with the Rev. Joseph Kakareka officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Family and friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
