Andrew Barancho Obituary

Andrew Barancho, Jr., 76, of Welles Street, Forty Fort, died on Sunday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Plains on Nov. 1, 1930, and was a son of the late Andrew Sr. and Suzanna Rusnak Barancho. He graduated from Plains High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Barancho had resided in Forty Fort since 1967. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a machinist for Procter & Gamble for over 26 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Church, Wilkes-Barre.
His brother Michael Barancho preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, the former Dolores Cardamone; daughters, Cheryl Laity, Forty Fort; Lynn Barancho, Kingston; Tracey Keating, Swoyersville; sons, Andrew III, Ashley; John M., Swoyersville; and Robert A. Barancho, Delray Beach, Fla.; sisters, Anna Katchko, Swoyersville; Mary Selepak, Plains; Susan Kapinas, Plains; and Mildred Greboniski, Plains; two grandchildren, Matthew Laity and Christina Keating; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9 p.m. from the Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc., Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Byzantine Church, Wilkes-Barre, with Father James Hayer officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Byzantine Cemetery, Dallas. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Parastas service will be conducted at 7 p.m.
