DALTON — Ann Brzostek, 80, of Dalton, died Sunday evening, Sept. 24, 2017, at Geisinger CMC in Scranton surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 55 years is Chester Brzostek.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Wesley C. and Kathleen Regan Harris. She graduated from West Scranton High School in 1956, and married Chester on July 14, 1962. The couple moved to Dalton where they resided for over 50 years. Ann worked for Weis supermarket for the majority of her working career until her retirement. She was very active in the community, being a life member with the Dalton Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Juanita Chapter No. 8, Order of Eastern Star, and a member of Our Lady of the Abington's Church.
Ann was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan, taking numerous bus trips to the Bronx. She most enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren grow and prosper.
Surviving are four daughters: Mary Moulder and partner, Dave Felker, of Scranton; Ann Theresa Parry and husband, Thomas, South Abington Township; Judy Brzostek, her caregiver and fiancé, Michael Umphred, of Dalton; Kathleen Burgess and husband Nathan, of New Cumberland; one sister: Marion Weinschenk; grandchildren: Sarah Moulder and husband, Steve Handelman; Kathleen Moulder; Eric Parry and wife, Stefanie; Colby Parry; Brandon Parry; James Parry; Shea Parry; Nathan Burgess and wife, Sarah; Elizabeth Burgess; and Katie Burgess; two great-grandchildren: Thomas and Charlotte Parry; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Wesley Frank Brzostek.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from Our Lady of the Abington's Church, 700 W. Main St., Dalton, by Rev. Arbogaste Santoun, Pastor. Interment followed in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Scott Township.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA 18411.

My Mom graduated with Ann from West Side High School and they both ended up moving to Dalton after they were married ! For years I would see Ann at the Dalton carnival and Weis market.We always would chat. I haven't seen her for some time now. I am sorry to hear of her passing. She is missed.
