Ann Marie P. Morgan, 86, of Exeter, passed away Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, with her family by her side.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth Mason Yakalavich.
She was a graduate of Pittston High School, then working for a time at local garment industry until she became a full-time homemaker raising her children.
She was preceded in death by her son, Sean, in 2017, and a brother, Paul Yakalavich Jr.
Ann Marie was born and raised in the Junction section of Pittston. She moved to Greenville, N.Y., after marrying and to raise her four children, ultimately finding her way back to Pittston years later. Ann Marie had a love for making quilts and blankets, making one for every family member she could. She loved her polkas on Sunday and enjoyed cooking and baking, especially her famous pierogies. Ann Marie was a kind, giving, loving lady who cherished everyone in her life. Family and friends meant the world to her. To have known her, you were blessed. For every humming bird you see, please think of Ann Marie.
Surviving to carry on her memories are her children, Kevin and his wife, Betty Ann Rogers, Exeter; Maureen and her husband, John Frutchey, Ashley; and Kelly Deleo (Scott Lambert), Exeter; grandchildren, Chris (Julie), Kevin B (Jenna), Kyle (Amanda), Colleen (Rusty), Jeremy, Amber (Marvin) and Erin; great-grandchildren, Harper, Alexis (Brian), Hunter, Chance, Wynter, Andrew, Sean and Kyla; great-great-grandchildren: Aubreyana, Alani and Adalyn.
Also surviving is a sister Patricia Cox, Staten Island, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
A funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church (Corpus Christi Parish), 224 Memorial St., Exeter.
Interment with Rite of Committal will be in St. John's Slovak Cemetery, Schooley Street, Exeter.
