Barbara Ann Girman, 85, of Northeast Pennsylvania, passed peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, while in hospice care at Keystone House hospice in Wyndmoor.
Born in Dupont, she was the daughter of the late Julia (Sudol) Wilk and John Wilk. A 1957 graduate of Duryea High School, she earned a secretarial certificate from Scranton Lackawanna Business College. She worked as an executive secretary for Owens-Illinois, later Techneglas/OI-NEG, in Pittston, until her retirement.
Surviving are her daughter, Andrea M. Girman, M.D., of Asheville, N.C.; her son, Michael J. Girman and wife Pam, of Doylestown, Pa.; grandchildren, Jake, Julia, Andrew, and Emily; and sisters, Bernadine Mackowski of Old Forge, and Marie Blough of Williamsburg, Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Girman.
An avid gardener and lover of interior design and classic fashion, Barbara brought warmth and elegance to all she touched.
Cremation services are under the care of the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main St., Duryea. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Northeastern Pa.
