Barbara Lucile Taylor, 88, of Harveys Lake, passed away peacefully Monday, June 23, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Santa Monica, Calif., on April 25, 1937, to the late Mildred Roebeck and Richard Krogel. After graduating from high school, Barbara married Charles W Taylor, then in the U.S. Air Force, and lived in Wisconsin and New York before finally residing in the Back Mountain.
Barbara was employed by RCA and later Encon, from which she retired. Still wishing to stay active, she returned to part-time work as a custodian for the Lake Lehman school district.
Barbara was an independent, determined woman and lived alone at her home in the Outlet section of Harveys Lake until her passing, where she raised her five children, whom she was most proud of. She was happiest visiting and drinking coffee with friends and family at her kitchen table. Some of her greatest pleasures were watching the wildlife in her yard and the birds at her many feeders, tending to her flowers and caring for her pets. She also loved to go camping and was able to do so until the very end.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles, and her sister, Mildred.
At the time of her death, she was survived by her five children, daughters, Maribeth Tarnalicki, husband Joe, of Shavertown Pa; and Jodi of Upland Calif.; and sons, Chuck and wife, Michele, of Skippack, Pa.; Mark and wife, Doris, of Harding Pa.; and Michael of Milton Pa. Barbara is also survived by her brother, Richard, of Oakland Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
