COURTDALE — Carl L. Jolley, 70, of Courtdale and Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on Dec. 14, 2015, at home in Courtdale.
Born on Sept. 6, 1945, he was a son of the late Carl and Elsie (Wyant) Jolley. A graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1963, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at Temple University in 1967.
Carl had a successful career in the publishing industry, holding executive positions at Haddon Craftsmen, Scranton, and the Penguin Group USA, retiring as senior vice president of distribution. He was instrumental in the planning, construction and operation of a large Penguin distribution center in Pittston Township, as well as the modernization and reorganization of distribution centers in Kirkwood, New York, and Rugby, England.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister in 1954, and his beloved wife, Donna, in November 2013.
He is survived by his children, Cheryl and Joseph Walton, Pottstown, Carri and Errol Sewlal, St. Cloud, Florida, and Jeff and Lori Jolley, Plymouth Meeting; grandchildren, Emily, Patrick, Sophie, Liam, Julia and Kira; and siblings, Caroljane Jolley, Marion Reilly, Robert and Mary Ellen Jolley and David Jolley.
A member of the Courtdale United Methodist Church, Carl was a Past Worshipful Master of King David Lodge No. 763, Free and Accepted Masons, and a member of Keystone Consistory, Irem Temple AAONMS and the Wilkes-Barre Shrine Club.
Carl loved sports and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles and Flyers, as well as Temple University and Penn State. He loved to play golf, had been a member at Irem Temple and Fox Hill Country Clubs, and was proud of shooting a round of 69, his personal best.
More than anything, though, Carl loved his family and extensive group of wonderful friends. He adored and loved spending quality time with his grandchildren, siblings and many nieces and nephews and will be forever in their memory.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association, 321 Norristown Road, Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002; Geisinger Health System Foundation Neuromuscular Disease Fund, 100 N. Academy Ave., Danville, PA 17822; or the charity of the donor's choice.

Carl was always such an asset to so many in his life. I graduated with him and he was a person everyone knew. Probably because he always had a big smile and was kind. Our 63 class and reunion committee of which he was the treasurer will miss him terribly. He was one of the good guys. We are grieving also. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family. Much love to his children and grandchildren. I know he will be missed. Love and RIP, Lyn and John Kolaski
