Carl Martin Obituary

Carl G. Martin, 71, of Benscoter Road, Shickshinny, died May 19, 2008 in Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
He was born at Pikes Creek on November 30, 1936, a son of the late Clifford and Lillian (Hagel) Martin.
He was a member of the Roaring Brook Baptist Church, Hunlock Creek.
Carl was a retired, 30-year Army soldier and served many years in the Army Reserve. He received the Vietnam Service Medal with one Silver Service Star; the National Defense Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Bronze Star Medal.
Surviving are his wife, the former Charlotte (Sue) Kulp; daughters, Sherry Wright and husband, Joseph, Hunlock Creek, Lisa Nichols and husband, Doug, Hunlock Creek, and Melissa Rathbone and husband, Staff Sgt. Richard, Nevada; sons, Chester Martin, Hunlock Creek, and Bruce Martin and wife, Richelle, Stroudsburg; grandchildren, Joel David Wright, Kristen Hill, Brianna Nichols, Denee Nichols, Britny Martin, Taylor Martin, Lucas Martin, and Austin Hill; sisters, Irene Yeager, Hunlock Creek, Cora Harmon, Hunlock Creek, and Grace Beahm, Dallas, and brothers, Alfred, Joseph, Claude, Thomas and Harry, Hunlock Creek, and Clyde, Noxen.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Johnston; brothers, David and Bruce Martin and Harold Shaw.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from the Clarke Piatt Funeral Home Inc., 6 Sunset Lake Road, Hunlock Creek, with Pastor Dan Brubaker officiating.
Interment will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Hunlock Creek.
Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
