Catherine Ciak Obituary

Catherine V. Ciak, 74, of West State Street, Larksville, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Larksville, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Ann (Hudak) Korshalla. Mrs. Ciak was a member of St. Mary’s, St. Vincent’s and St. Stephen’s Parish Community of Plymouth, and was a member of St. Stephen’s Christian Ladies Club. She attended St. Stephen’s School and was a graduate of Larksville High School, the Wyoming Seminary Dean School of Business, the McCann School of Business and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society for many years. She was formerly employed by the Leader Store in Plymouth, Wayne’s Dept. Store in Edwardsville and the First Eastern Bank of Wilkes-Barre.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Chester, in 1982, and infant twins at birth.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and James Tomaine, Larksville; grandchildren Crystal Nicholas, Loni Tomaine, Jenn Tomaine and Nicholas Tomaine; brothers Thomas Korshalla, Larksville; Andrew Korshalla, Harveys Lake; and a aunt, Verna Sokola, Larksville.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson St., Larksville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church, Wadhams Street, Plymouth. Interment will be in parish cemetery, Lehman.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening.
Memorial gifts may be made to the John Heinz Institute, 150 Mundy St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
