Charlotte M. Smolinski, 68, of Nanticoke, passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025, at Birchwood Healthcare and Serenity Hospice, Nanticoke.
Born Dec. 2, 1956, in Nanticoke, she was a daughter of the late Casimir and Lottie Bolek Katra.
Charlotte was a graduate of Nanticoke High School, Class of 1974.
She worked for the Nanticoke Housing Authority in the administrative office for over 40 years.
Charlotte was a beautiful, kind and loving person. The pride of her life was her granddaughter, Kacey. She loved her entire family very much.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, William J. Smolinski, in April; son, William Smolinski; brother, Thomas Katra; and brothers-in-law, John Smolinski and William Maguire.
Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Kristen Spencer, and her husband, David; son, John Smolinski; granddaughter, Kacey Spencer; sister, Theresa Maguire; brother, Joseph Katra, and his wife, Carla; nieces, Kimberly Petrosky, and her husband, Stanley; and Courtney Saba, and her husband, Robert; nephews, Michael Maguire and Duane Evans and his wife, Angie.
Funeral Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. Brian F. Van Fossen officiating.
Viewing and visitation will be from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment with Rite of Committal will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Birchwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
