Christine F. Allan (Christy), 38, of Kingston, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Christy was a bright light — curious, compassionate and deeply loyal. She loved to travel, and her journeys took her from her time at Evergreen College to South Africa and Namibia, through years spent living in Colorado, to Ireland, Iceland and countless places and concerts across the United States. Everywhere she went, she made lasting friendships and memories.
Music was the rhythm of her life — she found deep joy in live shows, and her concert experiences were some of her most treasured moments. She also had a passion for genealogy, spending hours tracing family history and connecting present to past with care and fascination.
Upon returning to Kingston, she worked at Dugan's Pub and Breaker Brewing Company while pursuing her degree in nursing. She became a Registered Nurse and found purpose and pride in her work, most recently with Geinsinger and as a travel nurse with WellSpan Health in York, Pennsylvania.
Christy stood up for people — especially those treated unfairly — and found joy in bringing others together. Her warmth, wit, and unshakable loyalty will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving mother and stepfather, Susan and Bob Yocum; her sister, Saray Grodack, husband, Russell; her brother, Ted Allan, wife, Kate; her two adoring nephews, Teddy (8) and Wyatt (5); her stepbrothers, Bradley and Robert Yocum, and her half-sister, Jennifer Kepka. She is also deeply missed by her beloved dog, Louie, who was her loving companion.
Christy was preceded in death by her father, Edwin (Ted) Allan Sr.; her aunt, Isabella Cross; uncles, Austin, Chris, and Frank Allan; uncle, Robert Pahl; and her beloved cousins, Beth Cross and Danny Pahl — as well as the many dear friends she lost along the way.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at Harold C. Snowdon Home for Funerals Inc., 420 Wyoming Ave., Kingston. Graveside services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mostly Muttz Rescue or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, two causes close to Christy's heart.
