MONROE TWP. — Clara Florida Rifenbery, 99, of Monroe Township, passed away Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021, at Star Hill Rest Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Rifenbery, on Aug. 23, 2000.
Born in Monroe Township on Nov. 16, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William and Clara Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Lewis and husband Edward, of Sarasota, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Pat Rifenbery, of Auburn Center; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Rifenbery; daughter Wilma Hopfer and husband Gary.
Clara was a member of The Beaumont Union Gospel Church.
She worked as a presser in several local dress factories until her retirement.
Known to many as Mom, Gram, Great Grandma, Aunt Clara or Clara, she was a special lady, who touched everyone who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to attend Clara's funeral service which will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657, with Pastor Jerry Mattocks presiding. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.
Those of you who may wish to attend Clara's service but are unable can join the family online for a livestreamed service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, at www.sheldonkukuchkafuneralhome.com under Clara F. Rifenbery's tribute page.

Dearest Clara, you were a very special lady. You brought happiness to everyone who knew you. You most definitely will be missed. You were loved to the moon and back.
