ORMOND BEACH, Fla. — Daniel R. Warner, 93, of Ormond Beach, Fla., formerly of Harveys Lake, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, Daytona Beach, Fla.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Bessie Roberts Warner.
Dan was a graduate of Wyoming Seminary, class of 1939.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. Dan was a member of the F & AM Masonic Lodge, Tuckerton, N.J., and a member of the Irem Temple Shrine for 69 years.
Dan loved his family and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed bicycling, hiking and kayaking with his family at Harveys Lake and in Florida. He was patient and kind. The simple pleasures in life were most meaningful to him. He always stopped to smell the roses and always made time for everyone. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his mother, was his wife, Lois E. Gallagher Warner, and great-granddaughter, Lainey Johnson.
Surviving are children, Lois Brooks and her husband, Gene, Stuart, Fla.; Mary Warner, Harveys Lake; Susan Young and her husband, Anthony, Harveys Lake; Ellen Apaliski and her husband, Jacob, Harveys Lake; Daniel R. Warner Jr. and his wife, Wendy, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; Jane Hart and her husband, Marty, Holiday, Fla.; grandchildren, Greg Brooks, Michael Brooks, Jamie Brooks, Sander Brooks, Colin Brooks, Cameron Brooks, Hillary Brooks Jackson, Louis Goeringer, Ellen Young Zick, Lindsay Young Johnson, Kathryn Young, Claire Apaliski, Elyse Apaliski, Daniel R. Warner III, Christin Warner; great-granddaughter, Elliot Zick.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. The Rev. Joseph P. Rafferty, pastor of Prince of Peace Episcopal Church, Dallas, will officiate. Private entombment will be made in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Harveys Lake Fire and Ambulance Company, P.O. Box 56, Harveys Lake, PA 18618.

Ellie, & the Warner family, I fondly remember your Dad when we were kids, as he never yelled at us, but we knew what he meant! My parents thought the world of him, as did I. So sorry for your loss!
