David Belsky Obituary

WILKES-BARRE — David Joseph Belsky, 70, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Tuesday morning, May 10, 2022, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Diane Klaproth Belsky. They had celebrated 33 years of marriage.

Born in Hanover, he was the son of the late Michael and Dorothy Belsky. He was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish at St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre. He served with the U.S. Air Force. He was a martial arts instructor who achieved a master's level in Northern Shaolin style. He was a lifelong NY Yankee fan.

He also leaves behind many students, along with training brothers and sisters that he has touched throughout the years. He was a dedicated husband, father, brother, son, teacher and student.

Surviving are two daughters, Deanna and Dayna Belsky; three sons, David, Daniel and Derek Belsky; three sisters, Mary Hunter, Dorothy Belsky and Karen James; four brothers, Mike, Don, Bobby and Denny Belsky; and nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Aloysius Church, 143 Division St., Wilkes-Barre. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the church. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
