Edward Slavinski Obituary

EXETER — Edward F. Slavinski, 72, of Exeter, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at his home with his loving family by his side.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Dominick and Mary (Deptula) Slavinski. Ed was a member of St. Barbara Parish at St. Cecilia's Church, Exeter, and was a graduate of GAR High School's Class of 1964. Ed retired from working at the Tobyhanna Army Depot. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served his country during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Slavinski.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, the former Eileen Dunn, and a sister Joanne and her husband, Frank Wojcik, of Milford, along with numerous nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at St. Cecilia's Church (St. Barbara Parish), Exeter. Please think of a memory you may have shared during Ed's lifetime to enter into a memory book that will be available at the church. The Msgr. John Sempa will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Church, Wyoming Avenue, Exeter. Interment with military honors will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Schooley Street, Exeter.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the Social Concerns Committee of St. Barbara Parish, 224 Memorial St., Exeter, or to the Exeter Post 833 American Legion, Attn: Cmdr. Don Hudock. 367 Susquehanna Av, Exeter, PA 18643.

Eileen, we are so sorry to learn of Ed's passing. I"ll always remember the good times Ed and I had at work and donut days at Curry donuts.
