George Fillman Sr.

George R. Fillman Sr., 75, of Walnut Street, Forty Fort, died on Sunday, May 20, 2007, at Kindred Hospital, Green Cove Springs, Fla.
Born in Mountain Top, he was a son of the late Paul and Albina (Knorr) Fillman. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1948 and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean conflict.
Mr. Fillman had resided on Walnut Street in Forty Fort for the past 49 years. He also maintained a residence in Kissimmee, Fla.
Prior to his retirement he owned and operated Instantwhip Company.
He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Kingston; Kingston Lodge No. 395, F&AM; and American Legion Post 395, Kingston.
He was preceded in death by his son, George R. Fillman, Jr., who died in 1989.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pearl Cooper; daughters, Cynthia Fillman, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lynn K. Fillman, of Forty Fort; brother, Paul Fillman, of Mountain Top; sisters, Connie Bokrosh, of Berwick, Linda Yermal, of Mountain Top, and Judy DeLarche, of Mountain Top; four grandchildren, Timothy Williams, Erica Pigeon, Andrew Williams and Kathlyn Fillman; two great-grandchildren, Noah Pigeon and Faerie Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with the Rev. Timothy Madeira, officiating. Interment will be in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
