Gerald Mack Obituary
Gerald J. Mack, 78, of Tilbury Terrace, West Nanticoke, passed away Saturday evening, November 13, 2010, in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late Chester L. and Caroline Tushinski Mack Sr. He was a graduate of Newport High School, class of 1950, and Bloomsburg University. Mr. Mack was the former school principal of Lincoln Elementary School, Nanticoke, retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Faustina Parish and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. Jerry loved to hunt, fish, ballroom dance and be outdoors. He loved his two grandchildren very much and found contentment with his two dogs, Coco and Chelsea. He was blessed with many faithful friends, especially Ed Bezdziecki and Joe Samuels. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, the former Barbara Dillon; daughters Jeri Ann Mack, West Nanticoke, and Dr. Carla Mack, Reno, Nev.; grandchildren Lee Ann Mack Scharbach and Trinity Mack; brother Chester Mack Jr. and his wife, Sheila, Glen Lyon; sister Marie Morucci, Glen Lyon; as well as nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday from the Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 22 S. Prospect St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Faustina Church, 520 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. James Nash officiating. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Faustina Parish or the SPCA.

Dear Mack Family,
I remember "Mr. Mack", my 4th grade teacher and principal, so fondly. He was a wonderful educator, who told us stories, spoke of his children often, and taught us well. He was one of the great teachers who influenced me to become a "professional student". I am sad to learn of his passing.

Dear Mrs. Mack, Jeri Ann and Carla,
I was so sorry to hear your news. Your dad was such a great person. He always took time for my kids when we were visiting. I'm still trying to get Tom to back my car in the driveway the way he always used too! A friend once told me that death is always hardest on the ones left behind. Cherish the memories and remember the good times, those will be with you forever.
